In the journal “The MAK Collection for Occupational Health and Safety”, the Commission, with the support of additional experts (Guests of the Commission) and the Scientific Secretariat, collects all the available toxicological data on a substance, describes its mechanisms of action and suggests health-based limit values in air and biological materials, classifications and other notations. In addition, analytical methods suitable to reliably quantify the substances as well as their biological parameters are described.
The journal is issued quarterly with publications in two languages, English and German.

Whereas publications from 2020 onwards appeared as first publications on PUBLISSO, publications before 2020 were secondarily published in the Fachrepositorium Lebenswissenschaften (FRL).
