Meanwhile 3,208 articles and 46,800 abstracts have been published. The portal will this year integrate a section for electronic books, the first project pending will be the publication of a textbook for hand surgery.In the interdisciplinary journal “GMS German Medical Science”, 185 articles have been published to date. The journal is indexed in databases like BASE, DIMDI, EBSCO, Embase, MEDLINE, MEDPILOT, PubMed Central, etc.In 2014, the further development of the portal will be accompanied by a horizontal reorganization. The journal “GMS Psycho-Social-Medicine”, which has been published since 2004 as an independent journal, will merge into a special section of the interdisciplinary journal “GMS German</PlainText></TextGroup> Medical Science”. The reasons are mainly <TextGroup><PlainText>organisational</PlainText></TextGroup> and financial. The editorial board and the reviewer will remain active and hopefully the readers, too. Thus, beginning with January 2014 all manuscripts from the psychosocial field shall be submitted to “GMS German Medical Science”.</Pgraph></TextBlock> <TextBlock language="de" linked="yes" name="Editorial"> <MainHeadline>Editorial</MainHeadline><Pgraph>Ende 2013 stellt sich das Portal „German Medical Science“ (gms) wieder erfolgreich dar. In gms werden <TextGroup><PlainText>16 Internetjournale</PlainText></TextGroup> der wissenschaftlichen medizinischen Fachgesellschaften publiziert, bisher mit insgesamt 3.208 Artikeln. Daneben wurden bisher ca. 46.800 Abstracts aus mehr als 200 Kongressen veröffentlicht. Das Portal wird in diesem Jahr um eine Sektion für elektronische Bücher erweitert, in der als erstes Projekt die Publikation eines E-Books zur Handchirurgie ansteht.</Pgraph><Pgraph>Im interdisziplinären Journal „GMS German Medical Science“ wurden bisher 185 Artikel publiziert. Dieses Journal ist in mehreren Literatursammlungen und Datenbanken indexiert: BASE, DIMDI, EBSCO, Embase, <TextGroup><PlainText>MEDLINE</PlainText></TextGroup>, MEDPILOT, PubMed Central u.a.</Pgraph><Pgraph>In 2014 wird die weitere Entwicklung des Portals begleitet von einer horizontalen Reorganisation. Die Zeitschrift „GMS Psycho-Social-Medicine“ wird ab 2014 nicht mehr als selbständiges Journal im Portal erscheinen, sondern als eine Sektion „Psychosoziale Medizin“ innerhalb der interdisziplinären Zeitschrift „GMS German Medical Science“. Durch diese Umstellung werden finanzielle und Kapazitätsprobleme gelöst. Ab 01.01.2014 sind daher die Manuskripte aus dem Themenbereich der psychosozialen Medizin direkt bei „GMS German Medical Science“ einzureichen.
