N2  - This chapter reviews the structure of peripheral nerves relevant to clinicians managing peripheral nerve injuries and compression syndromes. Anatomy of the main nerves innervating the hand is described. The response of nerve to injury including conduction block and axonal degeneration is explained, together with the potential for axonal regeneration.
